Poker Face?

Newly acclaimed Princess of Pop, Lady GaGa is known as much for her mystery, often hiding behind huge shades and outrageous outfits, as she is for her hit singles, Just Dance and Poker Face. However, we think its no secret that she may have had a little help achieving her crowning look.
Make Me Heal has reported the 22-year old has likely undergone rhinoplasty given the drastic change in the shape and size of the stars nose. Lady GaGas nose previously overpowered her face and had a hooked appearance. According to plastic surgeon and rhinoplasty specialist Dr. Paul S. Nassif, Lady GaGa definitely had a rhinoplasty. It looks a little pinched, but not bad. The improvement brought a nice balance to her face, allowing the rest of her features to shine without leaving her unrecognizable. Other sources speculate a chin implant and breast augmentation may have also added to the starlets enhanced look. Whatever work Lady GaGas had done, it has clearly added to her confidence and her career has taken off. We look forward to seeing this rising songstress for many years to come.

SkinCeuticals has a "New Serum on the Block"

A few of us in the office had the opportunity to sit down with our lovely SkinCeuticals representative last week. They have an exciting new product on the market called Phloretin CF. This brand new patent pending product has just hit the market and is not just a "new cure all wrinkle serum". The thing that separates this vitamin C serum from all the others is its new technology. SkinCeuticals.com explains it best....(well, for sure better than I could), "Phloretin CF, a broad-spectrum treatment, protects against not only free radicals, but the range of other reactive molecules known to cause damage and DNA mutations among the integral cell types. In addition, it corrects existing damage by stimulating the synthesis of essential proteins and fibers and accelerating cell turnover." In other words the serum is different because it not only protects against broad spectrum damage, but it also corrects the damage you might already have AND help your skin turn over new cells. The best part is once you put in on it can't be washed off or rubbed off like other products on the market. Your skin will absorb and store the product so your skin will be protected for 24 hours and possibly longer. The end result is less appearing fine lines and wrinkles, and protected skin that looks radient and healthy. This product is already recieving a lot of media buzz, and has recieved an Allure Best of Beauty Award. I had the opportunity to try the product, and I really liked it. I have been a little leary of serums in the past because they can be oily and heavy. My skin absorbed the product quickly and left no oily residue at all. You can find SkinCeuticals in your Dermatologist or Plastic Surgeons office, because the products are medical grade. We carry SkinCeuticals in Dr. Walden's office too! So, no matter your age it is important to protect your skin from sun damage.....after all it is the only skin you get!!!

Faye Dunaway - Who Thinks She's Seen Dr. Sloan?

Who watches Grey's Anatomy??

Did anyone see the last episode where Faye Dunaway plays Dr. Campbell? I think she may have visited Dr. Sloan while
she was there! Born in 1941 (that makes her 68) she is looking pretty young in the face. It appears as though she has had a facelift, maybe some Botox, perhaps some laser treatments and a blepharoplasty (eye lift). I cannot be sure, but she does have the "pulled" look from a facelift, or perhaps multiple facelifts.

This photo is from her younger years - she is a pretty woman who has aged very gracefully. Perhaps with some help though! :)

Princess Rihanna

The Barbados born beauty, Rihanna (21) who is best known for her songs Umbrella and Disturbia, has been involved in an altercation in which Chris Brown (19) allegedly assaulted her. Recently there was a leak of a picture of Rihanna after the alleged assault and she appears to be swollen. Our very own Dr. Walden weighed in on the situation "...what Rihanna needs is a new boyfriend and counseling to get out of an abusive relationship as soon as possible (if the allegations are true regarding Chris Brown). Thoughts and prayers are with her during what must be a difficult time " (Source:Make Me Heal). It may still be too soon to determine if she will need some sort of surgical procedure, she may just need some resting time to get back to her old self. Rihanna however has been speculated to have had breast augmentation and rhinoplasty (Source: Stars Plastic Surgery).

The Queen of Reinvention

Madonna, the queen of reinvention has done it again, but this time to her face. Spotted at Vanity Fairs post-Oscar party, Madonna has received quite a response to her incredibly youthful appearance. According to ABC News, specialists speculate that she underwent several procedures to achieve this look. Dr. Suzan Obagi, director of the University of Pittsburgh's Cosmetic Surgery and Skin Health Center, suspects she had a facial treatment just days before the big night, "It looks like she had a sapphire abrasion or a vibra facial. These are procedures in which the skin is exfoliated and a serum is applied." Photographs of Madonna two days before Oscar night with shiny, salmon-colored skin support her suspicion, as this look is likely the result of removing a layer of skin. However, Dr. Bruce Katz, director of Mt. Sinai School of Medicine's Juva Skin and Laser Clinic, argued that Madonnas fresh look may actually be the result of a new laser procedure called fractional resurfacing which, like a facial treatment, tightens skin and lessens the appearance of wrinkles and pores. He goes on to say, "Her skin looks great -- no sunspots, it's supple, not tight, so it doesn't have that pulled look, which is indicative of a facial treatment as opposed to surgery."

Both specialists agree that Botox also played a hand in Madonnas recent flawless complexion. Her arched brows and the smoothness between her brows are tell-tale signs of the popular procedure. Obagi went on to add, "She has also had Botox of the 'bunny lines' -- the lines that are created on the side of the nose." While derma-fillers will last up to 6 months, laser results could last several years. Whatever her tricks may be, we applaud Madonna for her beautiful maintenance and wish her all the best for what are sure to be many successful years to come.
