What is on your body "wish list"???

If you could hand pick from a pool of celebrity facial and body features to create that dream body what would you choose? I took a minute to think about what I would do and the choices are endless! So, to make it easier for you Famed Plastic Surgeons have come up with a "short list" of Hollywood's Hottest Looks of 2009. I will say, some of the selection seemed like a no-brainer, but there are a few choices that will surprise you. One such surprise is that international supermodel Giselle was dethroned as the most sought after body and replaced by Jennifer Anniston. I actually found this very refreshing that women are going for a more attainable "girl next door" look rather than the supermodel! Yes, Giselle we are all still jealous! :) Also, topping the list is Angelina Jolie's perfect pout with Anne Hathaway and Rosario Dawson pulling a close second and third.

The authors of the list say the criteria for being chosen is quite simple. The selection seems to follow who is in the limelight at the moment. As the hollywood elite show up on glossy magazine covers and on the silver screen their stock shoots through the roof. Oh, and don't worry fellas there are choices on the list for you too!!

Hey Mickey You're So Fine

After seeing 52-year old Mickey Rourke In The Wrestler, it was hard not to notice the plastic surgery that has altered his appearance. Before becoming an actor, Mickey was actually a boxer and likely broke his nose a time or two. According to Makemeheal.com, Rourke has likely had several plastic surgery procedures which include a tight facelift, upper eyelid lift, multiple nasal surgeries, as well as possibly having had cheek, lower lip, and chin implants and a hair transplant. Although, he has likely wanted to improve his appearance from the damage of past boxing matches, this pugilist has lost some of his early facial characteristics. Although Mickey clearly looked hotter in the early days of 9 1/2 weeks, his acting skills have won him a Golden Globe and an Oscar Nomination for Best Performance be an actor in a leading role. I look forward to seeing him in Iron Man 2!

Just another day at "The Office"

Jenna Fischer, one of Hollywoods sweethearts, graces the February 2009 cover of Self magazine. Yes, it is extremely hard to tell, but this is the very same actress that we see week to week on NBC's acclaimed comedy "The Office." As the cover declares, Jenna has given her body a healthy-life makeover. She looks lean and toned and has that "healthy" glow about her. The only problem is that she has been "photoshopped" almost to the point that she is unrecognizable. When the magazine arrived in my mailbox I had to give it a double take because I couldn't figure out who this person was on the cover.

So many times these overzealous magazine retouchers spark whirlwind cosmetic surgery rumors. I have to admit the first thing I thought was, "What plastic surgery has she had done to make herself look so different?" From first glance it seems obvious that the actress has had porcelain veneers put on her teeth as well as some possible facial injections. By the look of her small and tone waist, she might have been a good candidate for liposuction. The credit might be due to the hands of an artful plastic surgeon or the results came with the click of a mouse. Either way we think Ms. Fischer looks fabulous and give her two big thumbs up!

Joan Rivers on Plastic Surgery

Joan Rivers (75) knows a thing or two about plastic surgery and men and now she's written a book all about both..... "Men Are Stupid ... And They Like Big Boobs". According to Palm Beach Daily News, Rivers got the idea for the title of her book from Marilyn Monroe herself. She recalls " ... Marilyn whispered to me, 'Men are stupid and they like big boobs,' though she actually used another term that couldn't be put on the cover of a book".

She gives advice such as :
  • Go to a specialist. "If you're getting your eyes done, go to an eye guy. If getting your breasts done, go to the breast specialist. It may be boring for them, but so what?"
  • If you can afford it, get a cardiologist to sit in during the surgery. "Just in case."

  • "Anyone who doesn't use Botox is an idiot. No, I want to look like a Sharpei; of course you do it."
  • "A butt lift is terrific. Of course you don't want to walk around with your butt dragging on the ground."
  • The Catholic Church came down on (plastic surgery) early on. "That's why we have ugly nuns."
  • "I had my first tummy tuck when I went in for a hysterechtomy. I thought I might as well, since they're slicing me open anyway. When I came out of surgery, I was the only woman smiling in the place. Everybody else was crying, 'Oh, I can't have children.' I said, 'I can't wait to hit the beach."

  • Joan Rivers is rumored to have had countless procedures done such as a number of face lifts, a brow lift, cheek lift, eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), Botox injections, laser skin resurfacing, chemical peels and other procedures.

Look!! Dr. Walden is a Cover Girl!

Dr. Walden, aka "Manhattan Cowgirl" is featured in this month's PSP magazine. Read the full article online. This is a great article describing how Dr. Walden was told, at a very young age, she would be a surgeon one day; her journey to Manhattan and how she decided she would pursue plastic surgery. The article states, "this self-proclaimed workaholic says she is most happy and comfortable when she's performing surgery. "In the operating room, I'm very at peace," she says. "It's one of my favorite places, where I don't worry about phone calls, e-mails, bills, or issues of the day. It's just a little bit of seclusion. Operating is my passion." It goes on to talk about her pro bono work she does with children who suffer from cleft lip and palate deformities. It's an interesting article - you should check it out!

    Botox Boom before Obama's Inauguration

During the last few weeks it seems as though Botox bottles have been popped open as much as champagne in preparation for the historic Obama Inauguration and festivities in Washington, D.C. According to USA today, "Washington, D.C.-area cosmetic dermatologists, and skin experts in other major cities, say despite the sagging economy, requests for quickie cosmetic fixes, such as Botox and microdermabrasion, have picked up during the last few weeks as people pretty-up for inaugural fetes." USA today also spoke with a Washington, D.C. cosmetic dermatologist Tina Alster who said, ""We have been absolutely swamped since the election with people desiring rejuvenation procedures for the upcoming inauguration."

Clearly, stars such as Sheryl Crow and Jamie Fox need to look their very best for such a historical event and look like they may have gotten Botox treatments (sshh!). Jamie Fox's forehead appears relatively immobile as he makes face for the camera on HBO's We Are One Inaugural Special (see video). Sheryl Crow also shows off her fantastic wrinkle-free forehead, and a tad bit lower brow than we are used to seeing (a telltale sign). Her forehead remains crinkle-free as she smiles, suggesting she may get Botox injections in her forehead and glabellar muscles. Besides the Inauguration taking place today there are 10 official galas and dozens of attendant parties and events, many that are being thrown by celebrities themselves. Despite the recession, it seems that cosmetic procedures are getting back in the game as people try to look their best for such events!

    Clinique Offers Medical-Grade Skincare Products

If you are like me and have always had a bottle of Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion on your counter since you were fifteen, check out this article in today's
Dallas/ Fort Worth Star Telegram (yee haw!):
"Late last year, cosmetics company Clinique and pharmaceuticals company Allergan announced a new line of skin-care products, Clinique Medical. The new Optimizing Regimen products are designed to be used before and after in-office nonsurgical cosmetic procedures such as laser treatments and chemical peels. The venture is part of a trend toward cosmetics companies and healthcare companies joining forces to offer "medical-grade" skin-care products.

Dr. Jennifer Walden, a New York City plastic surgeon who grew up in Texas and attended medical school in Galveston, says the term "medical-grade skin-care products" is not just an advertising gimmick.

These are products that are similar to those available in department stores, but the active ingredients are present at a greater strength than the Food and Drug Administration allows to be sold over the counter. Sometimes products are available in doctors offices and other times by prescription only.

Cliniques Optimizing Regimen contains a probiotic cleanser; a skin-conditioning treatment intended to encourage cell turnover before a laser/peel treatment; a recovery-week complex with hydrocortisone thats intended to reduce redness after treatment; an optimizing treatment cream with a complex of ingredients thats awaiting a patent; and a sunscreen with an SPF 38.

"These products help even out skin tone and post-procedure redness/inflammation," Walden says. Check with dermatologists or cosmetic surgeons for products. "

    Perfectly Paula???

Well, American Idol fans it is that time of year again! Everyone's favorite judge, Paula Abdul, showed up to the Fox TV Winter All Star Party looking very "refreshed." This sparked rumors that the former pop star may have recently made a visit to her plastic surgeon. It looks as if she received dermal fillers to her facial folds giving her a very frozen appearance. Hopefully this won't prevent her from giving us her famous comedic facial expressions on the show this season!

Abdul is no stranger to the nip/tuck experience. It is rumored that the star has had rhinoplasty as well as breast implants, botox, and fillers. So, here it is Paula "straight up".....no more fillers for a while, if you can't move your face who will keep Simon in check???

    Debra Messing with Her Looks

Looking at recent photos of Debra Messing, including at the Golden Globes. Although hip trendsetter Messing has stated that she is afraid of plastic surgery, we are not sure what is going on. Messing is great-looking and keeping in shape in her forties, although Botox maybe in the mix for her somewhat "bright eyed", ironed-out forehead appearance.

Debra has taken the part of the non-Latino in her husband's Puerto Rican family in her new film, "Nothing like the Holidays." Although, we can see that Debra Messing is coming into her age, she may have the help of injectables like Botox and fillers. But, we must give Debra Messing credit for loving the way she looks and for the most part keeping it real! Photo credit: People.com "From Geek to Chic"

Golden Globe Winner for Best Actress

Kate Winslet, the lovely 33-year old British actress won "Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama for her role in Revolutionary Road. She looked elegant and feminine in her black dress and many agree that not only did she win Best Actress but they have dubbed her as "Best Dressed" too! However, when it comes to elective cosmetic surgery she says she is a "no go" because her husband would leave her. Winslet is quoted as saying "I am pathetically intrigued by the notion but Sam would leave me if I did anything like that" (Source : In Style Magazine). But rumors have been flying around for quite some time about her possible rhinoplasty. According to GoingPlastic.com, they wonder if Kate may have had some work done to her nose and possibly her eyes. From the pictures below, her nose on the left seems a little wider but it may just be that she looks heavier in the first picture. It could also be the different lighting and angle that the picture was taken....(or from the scalpel blade of a nasal surgeon that her hubby never heard about)!

    Playboy's Perfection

Ukrainian beauty Dasha Astafieva was named Playmate of the Month for the 55th Anniversary edition of Playboy. This beauty says shes all natural but by the looks of it we may think differently. Don't get us wrong, we think she is absolutely stunning but feel as if it didn't all come from her mother.

According to makemeheal.com they say that: "Although unusual for a Playboy, the brunettes large D-cup breasts are rumored to be her own and not the result of a breast augmentation, although with her thin frame, implants are more likely. The model was formerly part of a girl group NikitA before she made it stateside.

The pert, perfect shape of Dashas nose is suggestive of a rhinoplasty, while her full lips and cheeks could be from some dermal fillers. Most notably, although the 23-year old is young to have wrinkles, the complete lack of them, even when she smiles, could be the result of Botox injections, while her smooth and shiny complexion is the likely result of laser treatments."

We don't know that the average 23 year old needs all of this, but cheers to Hefner's first brunette girlfriend! Happy Birthday Playboy!

    Jodie Marsh Overdone

Jodie Marsh is a British Glamour Model, who has gone a little overboard on her "work". Marsh recently turned 30 a couple of weeks ago, however, she certainly doesn't dress her age. Marsh is known for her stripper-like fashion sense and string of relationships. Jodie Marsh has clearly had breast augmentation and lip fillers, with a possibility of work done to her cheeks. However, I think most can agree that her implant size is far to large for her body, as most people like to comment, "Her implants are bigger than her head." Jodie's 32GG size breasts have definitely attracted some attention. According to MakeMeHeal.com, it also appears that Jodie may have had a nose job in the past, supposedly needed after a hockey accident when she was a child. Dr. Walden reported to MakeMeHeal, "Jodie Marsh looks overdone.. from her breasts, to her nose, eyes, forehead, brow, and lips. It seems obvious that she has had a breast augmentation with oversized implants, a rhinoplasty that skeletonized her nose, Botox and/or browlift, and lip soft tissue fillers. Good plastic surgery is not intended nor carried out to look this over the top. I agree and think that Jodie Marsh is trying too hard to enhance her appearance and looks like a cartoon version of Pamela Anderson, with her platinum blonde hair and oversized implants. Now, who knew there would ever be a celeb who would make Pamela appear prim and proper?

    Kate Hudson Gets Bride Beautiful

Kate Hudson (29) daughter of Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson is set to star along Anne Hathaway in th movie Bride Wars. Hudson and Hathaway play two best friends who are about to get married at "New York's ultimate bridal destination, The Plaza Hotel". However, a clerical error has them fighting over the same date that also threatens their friendship. Both ladies look very beautiful. But according to MakeMeHeal.com kate Hudson is rumored to have gotten a nose job (rhinoplasty) to narrow the width of her nose and/or tipplasty, to refine the tip of her nose. If she did have the procedure done, then the results are very subtle and compliment her beautiful facial features.

New Year's Resolutions "Bad for Your Health"?

    Happy New Year!

As the first post in 2009, we think it is important to say "out with the old, and in with the new". What are your New Year's resolutions? A recent article in the BBC News hit the nail on the head. They mentioned that a mental health institution has stated that new year's resolutions may be bad for your health.

"In 2009, instead of making a New Year's resolution, think positively about the year to come and what you can achieve.", the BBC reports.
Instead of easily broken resolutions, the charity has suggested a few steps to improve all-round mental health in 2009:

    * Being active - exercise releases endorphins and even a gentle stroll is beneficial for mental well-being
    * Going green - evidence has shown that connecting with nature can boost moods
    * Learn something new - it will keep minds stimulated and give confidence
    * Give back to the community - it can be just as rewarding for you as those you choose to help

    Cheers!!
