Three things I love Thursday: February 18, 2010

1. These chandelier prints from Ish and Chi's etsy shop:
2. This dotted-Swiss lace eyemask designed by Dita Von Teese for Moschino. At first I gagged at the $130 price tag, but at least 30% of proceeds will go to AIDS charity amFAR. I'm torn. It's beautiful and I love Dita...
3. SMITTEN MITTENS!!!
How am I only now finding out about these? They are made for holding hands when its cold out. My boyfriend would kill me in my sleep if I tried to get him to wear these in public, but they are quite adorable.Found at the etsy shop Love Driven.

11 romances that made me swoon, number 1

Number 1:
Ariel and EricI have no real reason other than they were the first couple that made me want to know what love was and made me want to fall in love.Total dream moment for me would be a recreation of the Kiss the Girl scene. And now I'm spoiled into thinking I deserve a fairy tale romance where I dote on huge statues of my prince. Thanks Ariel.

11 romances that made me swoon, number 2

Number 2:
Joshua Jackson and Diane KrugerMy favorite celebrity couple by far, they just always look like they genuinely enjoy every moment together. Also, the fact that he's gazing adoringly at her in almost every picture makes me all gushy inside.
Look how happy he is to just hold an umbrella for her!

11 romances that made me swoon, number 3

Number 3:
How I met your mother- Marshall and Lily (Marshmallow and Lilypad)I had a hard time deciding where to put this couple on the list because for a long time I really really wanted them at number one. They are the couple that I want my relationship to be most like without a doubt, but I ended up moving them to three because there are two others that make me more "swoony" and that's the title of my list.Part of the reason I love them so much is that I relate to them. She's a redheaded shopaholic who is a wannabe artist and he's a tall, sweet lawyer to be. (That perfectly describes my boyfriend and me.) And I really want my relationship to work how Marshall and Lily work.

1. They think it's normal to share a toothbrush. (EWW. I don't want to share a toothbrush but it's sweet how comfortable they are with each other)
2. They always do couple costumes on Halloween and always win the contest because they are so elaborate:3. They make each other pancakes every Sunday morning no matter what.

4. They pick each other up from the airport with signs and limo driver hats:5. They have preplanned karaoke routines:6. The first thing they do when they get home each night is tell each other everything they ate that day.

7. Lily is horrified to have to pee in front of Marshall even though they've been together for years.
Obviously, I could go on and on.... By the way, if you aren't watching this show you should change that. If only for Neil Patrick Harris.

11 romances that made me swoon, number 4

Number 4:
Pride and Prejudice- Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. DarcyThis is my all time favorite book and my all time favorite mini-series. (Ok, so there's not that much competition in the mini-series category, but still.)

And personally, I thought the Keira Knightley version was decent, but it didn't really do the Colin Firth version justice. If you've seen it you know why. And yes, it's worth the six hours it takes to watch it.

11 romances that made me swoon, number 6

At first I was going to put 500 days of Summer on the list because I really liked the movie. But then I thought about it and realized that they really didn't have a great relationship or anything, it was just a cute quirky movie. Actually looking back on it, their relationship was a bit sad.
BUT it made me realize that there is a Zooey Deschanel movie that very much has to go on my list.

Number 6:
ElfJust a very sweet and innocent romance. I loved the part where he sits next to the shower and sings "Baby it's cold outside" with her.Best line is when he kisses her on the cheek and she says, "You missed" and then actually kisses him.

"I'm in love. I'm in love. And I don't care who knows it."

11 romances that made me swoon, number 7

Number 7:
the oc- Summer and SethSo this one is hard because I now have to admit I was an O.C.-ian or an O.C.-ite or an O.C.-naut. Whatever.

But ya, I LOVED them. He was the sarcastic nerd who fell for the popular girl that didn't know he existed. He named his boat "Summer Breeze" before he even talked to her. They finally got together and argued and made up and were generally heart melt-y. Actually I stopped watching after the second season but I believe they got married in the series finale.AND they had matching toy horses named Captain Oats and Princess Sparkle who were also in love.AND they were a real life couple at the time so triple points. Look how cute they were:

11 romances that made me swoon, number 8

Number 8:
Definitely, Maybe- Will and April I might be a little biased on this one because Ryan Reynolds is in my top 5 celeb guys list and Isla Fisher might be my number one girl crush. Put them together and it's hard for me to not like the movie. But in addition to that, you have to love the she's-right-under-your-nose-why-can't-you-see-that-O-GOOD-now-you-see-it movies.

(SPOILERS)
The movie is done "How I Met Your Mother" style as single dad Will recounts his romantic life to his 10-year-old daughter without revealing which romance would end up being her mother. Throughout the stories, April is shown as a friend and a sounding board for all his ongoing romantic entanglements. Each time they realize they have feelings for each other, the timing is off.

In the end, April turns out to NOT be the mother, but Will's 10-year-old daughter convinces him to give it one more try with April years later. It's adorable.

Also, Ryan Reynolds is not hard to look at.
