Oscars 2012: Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock in Marchesa

Sandra's nose was the talk of the night, but I will give her the benefit of the doubt and blame makeup for the different shape her nose took on Sunday night.

As for the dress, I love it.  I'm a fan of Marchesa generally (aside from the rosette disaster of Stacy Kiebler), and this two toned dress could have been boring, but the extra gold embellishments really just elevate this dress to be Oscar-worthy

Oscars 2012: Stacy Kiebler

George Clooney's awards season arm candy had been hitting it out of the park at every show. Until the biggest night of the season. Why did she wear this Marchesa??? It's all gold lame and crazy.  And that rosette on the hip looks like a tumor. No one wants creepy growths on the red carpet.

SAG Awards 2012: Viola Davis

Viola Davis in Marchesa

Oh, Vi-oh-la-la.  She looked AMAZING.  Once again let me reiterate how much I love and covet her arms.  And that white dress is such a great contrast against her lovely skin.

SAG Awards 2012: Sofia Vergara

Sofia Vergara in Marchesa

There's looking sexy and there's looking vulgar.  It can sometimes be a rather fine line, and here Sofia Vergara crossed it.  There's just too much cleavage and looks vulgar.  Maybe on someone less chesty this would have been a pretty dress.

SAG Awards 2012: Kelly Osbourne

Kelly Osbourne in Badgley Mischka and Dena Kemp Palladium Diamond Bubble Ring

Kelly redeemed herself post stiff-mermaid-alien-dress and wore this much smoother cream gown.  Once again be-sleeved, but these are just so much more feminine and flattering on her.  I love me some Marchesa.  I just am not sold on that tassel business.  I do like the belt detail around her waist, it breaks up the dress really well, but the tassels just bother me.

SAG Awards 2012: Stacy Keibler

Stacy Keibler may be a nobody, but, damn, she is killing it on the red carpet.  And she better, George Clooney's arm candy has to look just as good as he does.  This simple black lace dress is a stunner.

Golden Globes 2012: Lea Michele

Oh, Lea.  I know you love attention, but pasting Medusa's snakes across your breasts is not the way to do it.

Emmys 2011: Lea Michele

Lea Michele in Marchesa
Damn you, Lea. I want to hate you so much. Your ego bothers me to no end. But you make it so hard by always being such a red carpet darling. And your look at the Emmys was no exception.

Love the red. Love the column gown with a hint of train. And, good lord, LOVE LOVE LOVE those rose ruffled sleeves. I'm telling you people, sleeves on gowns are gorgeous. And a rosette ruffled sleeve is just so chic against the otherwise very simple gown. *swoon*

SAG Awards 2011: Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian in Marchesa
Wowza, Kimmers, put the ladies away please! I love me some Marchesa, but this look is a little vulgar on the chesty Kim K. I just feel like her one breast is going to escape at any moment. The girls need a little more support, don't you think, Kim? Oh, and step away from the fake eyelashes. You look crazypants.

Golden Globes 2011: Olivia Wilde

Olivia Wilde in Marchesa
Olivia Wilde is the queen of princess dresses on the red carpet and I just love her for it. What's the point in going to a fancy awards show if you can't dress like a princess. The GGs were no exception as she dazzled in this glittery Marchesa gown. I was totally jealous and wished that I had princess events, because I would soooo wear this. Heart. Though I do find her hair kind of drab on the ends.

Oscars 2010: Vera Farmiga

Vera Farmiga in Marchesa
Marchesa was the designer of the night, making appearances on three big stars that night. And this one just might be my favorite. I love the bright color. And, you know me, I've never met a ruffle I didn't like. And well, I love these ruffles. This gown is all the drama that an Oscar dress should be. Way to bring out the big guns for the Oscars, Vera. I salute you.

Oscars 2010: Sandra Bullock

I know many people loved this look, but try as I might, I just cannot get on board with it. HATE the lipstick. Hate it with the passion of a thousand suns. The hair felt limp and boring. And I really did not like the shiny column Marchesa. Sacrilege I know, Marchesa is generally wonderful. But this dress' only detail that I liked was the embroidery on the one shoulder. Otherwise it fell flat for me.
