Met Gala 2010: Zoe Saldana

Zoe Saldana in a subtly shimmering Calvin Klein Collection navy column paired with a bold gold Neil Lane cuff and cocktail ring.

Okay, I lied. When I said Kate Bosworth's look was my favorite of the night, I really meant hers was tied for favorite with Zoe Saldana. Zoe redeemed her Oscar purple nightmare fiasco and came out stunning, classic, and just gorgeous.

Met Gala 2010: Kate Bosworth

Kate Bosworth in a beaded Valentino gown and Van Cleef & Arpels diamonds.

This retro look was my favorite of the night. The beading was beautiful. The locks were perfectly coifed. KBo could use a few pounds, but I won't hold that against the dress.

Met Gala 2010: Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Winfrey in a custom Oscar de la Renta navy silk organza gown, Jimmy Choo sandals and her own jewelry, including Lorraine Schwartz jade and diamond bangles.

Oprah has really been rocking the navy gowns lately. Remember her awesome Oscar look? I think this is another hit, and doesn't hurt she has Oscar himself on her arm for the evening. And you've got to love that she doesn't borrow jewelry for these things, she's got her own.

Met Gala 2010: Katy Perry

Katy Perry in a glow-in-the-dark CuteCircuit gown and Lorraine Schwartz pink sapphire jewelry.

I don't think I even have to write an explanation.

Met Gala 2010: Marion Cotillard

Marion Cotillard in a silver sequin Dior Haute Couture gown, along with Dior shoes and clutch.

Marion Cotillard continues her double-take inducing propensity to look like Kristen Stewart on the red carpet, albeit a much more attractive and less slouchy version of Kristen Stewart.

But aside from looking like the awkward starlet, this dress is dazzling. And I love the hair and makeup.

Met Gala 2010: Emma Watson

Emma Watson in head to toe Burberry from her custom shoes to her one-shoulder white gown to her box clutch.

The face of Burberry definitely did the label proud as she rocked this fierce, sexy, and interesting look.

Met Gala 2010: Chloe Sevigny

Chloe Sevigny in a full-skirted, teal lace Proenza Schouler minidress and antique Fred Leighton jewels.

I feel like I'm at a middle school dance.

Met Gala 2010: Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson

The always-stylish couple coordinate in sleek Calvin Klein Collection, with Fred Leighton antique jewels for her.

I love these two. I really do. Diane Kruger is always one of my red carpet faves and Pacey's cravat just makes me smile.

Met Gala 2010: Carey Mulligan

Carey Mulligan in a Miu Miu lace dress, Prada peeptoe shoes and Martin Katz jewels.

I hate Carey's hair cut. And that dress looks like it's from the juniors department of JC Penney. And the tights and shoes are much too heavy for the lavendar frock.

Met Gala 2010: Kirsten Dunst

Kirsten Dunst in Rodarte for Gap embroidered gown with Swarovski crystal pearls, Nicholas Kirkwood for Rodarte heels and Van Cleef & Arpels studs.

First of all, what is with all these designers doing stuff for Gap? Is Gap cool again? Did I miss something?

Second of all, those are the worst shoes in history.

Third of all, that fabric makes me want to wrap up some leftovers and put them in the fridge.

Met Gala 2010: Liv Tyler

Liv Tyler in a Stella McCartney dress, Fred Leighton jewels and Roger Vivier peeptoe pumps

Liv and Stella are buds and arrived to the Met Gala together. And it's obviously loyalty to a friend that got Liv in this boring number. It looks so very boring, but with a random train attached. What is that?

Met Gala 2010: Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy

The pretty couple paired off in custom Burberry, with a metallic lace dress and Fred Leighton jewels for Danes and a classic tuxedo for Dancy.

Very chic, very pretty.

Met Gala 2010: Kristen Bell

Kristen Bell in a Diane von Furstenberg strapless gown, set off with a DVF clutch and H. Stern jewelry.
Diane von Furstenberg really gets how to cut a nice feminine, sweet figure, and she definitely did it with this be-ruffled gown. Kristen looks great in it, and I love the shiny locks and fresh face.

Met Gala 2010: Rosario Dawson

Rosario Dawson in a custom lilac bustier Giambattista Valli gown and Fred Leighton jewels.
I'm not sure who this Giambattista Valli guy is or how he settled on Rosario being his date for the Met Gala, but I'm guessing she owed him a favor, because that is the only reason I can come up with for wearing that dress.

Met Gala 2010: Maggie Gyllenhaal

Maggie Gyllenhaal in a dress right off the Paris runway of Louis Vuitton

Well, as I said before, I like a dramatic risk on the red carpet at the Met Gala, and this fits the bill. I really enjoy the drama, the romantic corset. But I am confused why it looks like she skipped putting on makeup. She looks so tired and sad.

B-

Met Gala 2010: January Jones

January Jones in a black-embellished fuchsia Yves Saint Laurent dress What was with the ladies of Mad Men last night? I actually am digging the dress, but do NOT understand the addition of gloves, or those heavy round shoes. And, OMFG, what is with the eye makeup. NOOOOO. The scary alien smokey eye is just not working.

Met Gala 2010: Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington in a one-of-a-kind Thakoon for Gap asymmetrical red gown with Tasaki by Thakoon jewelry and Christian Louboutin accessories.

Kerry Washington is a beautiful woman. If Mr. EWP ever left me, I'd really understand if it was for Kerry Washington. I might leave him for Kerry. This color is great for her and I love all the interesting draping and varied fabrics. And obvi I love the shoes.

Met Gala 2010: Elizabeth Banks

Elizabeth Banks pairs her feathered Gucci frock with python print tights and tough sandals from the Italian line.
Um.... what was she thinking???? This is by far the worst thing I've seen at the Met Gala. And I've seen Madonna in that weird bird hair thing by Louis Vouitton. This is an outfit you'd expect at the Grammys, not the Met. Epic fail.
F

Met Gala 2010: Mary J. Blige

Mary J. Blige in a soft orange J. Mendel gown, VBH clutch, Lorraine Schwartz rose gold earrings and bracelets, and an Ofira diamond ring.

HATE the hair. Hate. hate. hate. The dress is medicore at best, and I'm pretty sure something I saw on Nordstrom.com the other day. Meh.

C

Met Gala 2010: Mila Kunis

Mila Kunis in a tulle Vera Wang gown with a hand appliquéd bodice and Fred Leighton drop earrings.

Mila Kunis looks very fresh-faced. I hate when the youngins over do it in the makeup department and look like crazy old maids. You're young, show off what you've got. So, yay, Mila!

The dress isn't really my thing, but I applaud risk-taking for the Met Gala. It's necessary and I'm all for it.
