I have a ridiculous soft spot for polka dots. I don't know why, but I'm kinda sorta obsessed with them. Just seeing the makes me so happy.  But still I wouldn't have said before Sunday that polka dots had a place on the Oscars red carpet.  And I would have been wrong.  Because this vintage gown is perfectly Oscars.  So screen starlet of days gone by.  I want this dress. Like now.

Breakfast at Tiffany's brunch

In Austin, Texas there is a chain of movie theaters that serves food and hosts special events with old movies. This past weekend my boyfriend and I went to their "Breakfast at Tiffany's Brunch" event:They had a special brunch menu for the event:Our orders...Secret shot I snapped during the movie with my iphone:I even got dressed up. Here's my 2011 version of Holly Golightly: Bonus because it was the first time it was warm enough for me to wear my new Valentino flip flops. SO much fun! Happy weekend!

Just a picture I found of my parents being very 1970's-tastic. I love it. I am quite sad she didn't keep any of her clothes. I would have a vintage goldmine.

an education

I finally got around to watching this movie with my boyfriend and I thought it was wonderful. If for nothing else, I recommend watching it for the beautiful clothing and hair in 60s London.
